I am a registered clinical counsellor who helps people with emotional pains overcome anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, childhood trauma, and love/relationships difficulties.
I believe everyone has wisdom within. I am passionate about helping individuals discover their inner strengths and live a fulfilling life. I help my clients identify the road blocks when they are going through the hard time. Support and empower them move forward with ease and confidence. To me, counselling is the combination of science and art.
I have both a Mandarin Chinese and an English Canadian cultural background. I customize my counselling observations and suggestions for clients in either Mandarin or in English according to their preferred language and their cultural familiarity.
Prior to my counselling career, I worked as an electrical engineer. Looking back over my life, I realize wanting to understand myself and to find happiness led me into the counselling field. When I succeeded in qualifying to work as a professional counsellor, I made the decision to commit myself to help others to transform their lives – to help them to understand themselves and find real happiness!
I earned my master’s degree in counselling psychology at the Adler University, the oldest independent school of psychology in North America. Since graduating, I have deepened my practice of Adlerian Psychology and helped my clients to develop and explore their rich, complex inner lives. During 10 years of practice, I have helped thousands of satisfied clients. "You are warm, respectful, competent, highly skilled, and professional” is the essence of the comments many clients wrote on their "Thank You" cards after completing their counselling.
In addition to my training in Adlerian Psychology, I have also studied and incorporated many other counselling approaches into my practice. My post master's degree training includes:
- Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy
- Gottman Couples Therapy
- Focusing-oriented Therapy
- Solution-Focused Therapy
- Dream Intervention
It’s my commitment to my continued growth as a therapist and to the people who seek my assistance. Read more about my counselling approaches.
